Rooms smelt like damp, very cold only had a sheet on the bed which had blood stains on, staff was ok but their systems was slow and poor taking 20 mins for just checking in, could go on
Staff not overly friendly or helpful with the exception of the gal who checked us in, she was awesome!
The bed was extremely comfortable! The room was quiet from an "interior" point of view - we were right next to the elevator and did not hear it. However, the hotel is right next to the railway tracks leading into Penn station and the trains sound their horns as they pass the hotel. This can be a problem with the last train of the night and the first of the morning!
The "free" breakfast is very basic. I would have preferred hard-boiled eggs instead of the starchy scrambled eggs that were offered.
We had a great stay! It was our 1st trip to nyc. Every member of the staff that we interacted with was so nice. Our king size mattress, a Tempur- Pedic, gave us the most comfortable night's rest ever. We liked the convenience of having a continental breakfast available. We also liked being able to store our luggage after check-out, so we could go sightseeing the rest of the day before catching a bus home. I felt Best Western was a name I could trust when I booked a room in nyc. The hotel was a good location for what we wanted to do in town.
The staff were really friendly. They have loads of tourist information in reception plus a computer with free internet and best of all they have excellent quality wifi in the rooms for free! I also liked the fact that breakfast is included, I thought it would have been just bread and butter, but actually they had quite a lot of stuff.
Even though the room and bathroom were very clean and the bed is super comfortable, they have old bulky furniture that makes a small room become even tinier and darker. I think they should modernize the rooms a little to make them lighter and more spacious.
Cleanliness of the common areas was doubtful. Continental breakfast is included but they ran out of many things during the weekend. The restaurant is very small and there were no sufficient tables for the guests.
Good value for money. Good location, an easy 12 minute walk to Times Square and main Avenues. The simple but acceptable breakfast was a plus. Take the highest floor available - quieter. All in all, well worth a stay there, despite the few 'niggles' we had.
Don't take a room with a king-size bed (unless you must, for some reason!) - it leaves absolutely no room to move! We moved to a room with a queen sized bed and this was fine. The phone in our room didn't work and hadn't been fixed during the following day, but it may have been caused by a bigger problem than we thought. Pretty quiet, but my wife, who's a light sleeper, was irritated by noise from the 24hr auto repair shop opposite, that seemed to work on vehicles through the night. I hardly heard it, but tthe higher up you are, the better. Strange that they have only one elevator, which means a bit of a wait sometimes.
The location is very convenient, it's only take me 15 mins to walk to Time Square.
The room is too small and could hardly to move when we put down 3 luggages. Also it closes to railway station, which is very noisy especially in the early morning and could not sleep very well.
That was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on! The staff was so friendly and the front desk agents were so helpful! Excellent stay!
Alarm snozee was broken
Location, close to times square etc. Friendly staff, nice air conditioned room. Price was low compared to other hotels in manhattan.
Breakfast was crappy.
Good location near the meatpacking district
Unfriendly staff, breakfast was not served until 10 am as promised, really slow elevator and a one dollar charge to keep your luggage on the day of departure (without any help on carrying it) The worst hotel i have visited in whole my life
It is really located in one of the best parts of Manhattan, although the 38th street is not that luxury among the others nearby, but still you have a nice scenery from 5th floor and higher. Easy to reach the western river-side. nice when you wanna use the cruise there. Too close to Broadway, Times Square, etc.
The rooms were little small. The breakfast was not that much satisfying.
Good location for the price Bed was really confortable
